This review is from: William and Kate Royal Wedding Mug, Photo Prince William & Kate, 16 oz Bone China from Great Britain

Yhis beautiful WILLIAM AND KATE ROYAL WEDDING MUG, PHOTO PRINCE WILLIAM & KATE, 16 OZ BONE CHINA FROM GREAT BRITAIN, is a lovely keepsake of the British Royal Wedding. It is made of BONE CHINA, and holds 16 full ounces when filled to the brim. At a total cost of $46.99, ($39.00 + $7.99 Shipping), it may be a relative bargain, where royal commemorative memorablila of this momentous wedding is concerned.

There is absolutely NO GOLD on this bone-china mug…which may be a reason the costs are kept down, But there is a lovely “gold rimming” of the pictures of Prince William and Princess Catherine, (together in the same oval, and not in spearate ones!) here, as well as gold in the colourful and royally significant design surrounding their picture. The design is a nice combination of the Royal Coat of Arms, (complete with the national flowers of Britain, Wales, Scotlanmd, and Ireland), and a set of wedding bells, tied up with a pretty golden-coloured ribbon, at the bottom.

I believe there was a mistake made in this mug — which MAY increase its value.
No — it’s not the obvious mistake made on another, (now very famous) mug…which paired Kate Middleton with her bride-groom’s BROTHER, Prince Harry. No — the “error”, (if error it is), on this mug is far more subtle…..

On the bottom of the picture, the names “William” and “Catherine” are inscribed, separated by the beautiful wedding bells mentioned earlier. BUT, in the picutre just above, CATHERINE is shown on the Left, whilst WILLIAM is shown on the RIGHT!
That’s correct — HIS name is under HER picture, and HER name is under HIS PICTURE@

Furthermore, in MOST royal photographs, it is the sovereign, (or sovereign-to-be), who is shown on the LEFT, and the consort, (or consort to be), who is usually shown on the RIGHT! This is probably because, since English is a language
that is read from left to right, that the FIRST, (or more important) person is usually shown on the LEFT. But, on this mug, Prince William is on the RIGHT, (and Princess Catherine is on the left!)

Maybe I’m reading more into this mug than is actually there. But it’s just possible that the photograph of the happy couple was printed IN REVERSE! As mentioned, HER picture is above HIS name, and HIS picture is above HER name. Hmmmm…..

I also notice that, on the back of the mug, just below the obligatory wording:
“To Commorate the Wedding of HRH Prince William & Catherine Middleton, at Westminster Abbey, 29th April, 2011″….there is a picture of TWO rings, one inside the other. But, just before the wedding itself, it was announced that Prince William would NOT be wearing a wedding ring. Obviously, this mug was produced WAY in advance of this wedding, and the “double ring” illustration, which testifies to this, thus just MAY indeed add to its value!

At any rate — collector’s item or not — this is cerainly one very handsome mug!
Looking at it again closely, I notice something I’ve never noticed before. And that is, how very much the fprmalized drawing of the five-petalled Tudor Rose, pictured twice on the bottom, looks like five linked-together valentines!

    Sigh…………… : ) : )
