  1. Highest quality tea. Exceptionally good deal. Well chosen carrier for prompt delivery. I recommend this merchant to discriminating and frugal web shoppers. Watch for periodic sales.

  2. I bought this based on others reviews. The first time I tried it, I wasn’t sure about it. It wasn’t what I expected. But I bought it and wasn’t going to waste it. It is now my favorite. I used to drink coffee all day as I worked at my computer. Now I drink Genmaicha.

I love genmaicha and thought I would try this out because of the high ratings. Boy was I disappointed to learn that my local Chinese market sells the same exact product for about 60% of the price! I also spent hours going through the tea to take out the woody stems which seem to be a sadly significant part of what is inside the bag. If you can’t get genmaicha from anywhere else, this still makes good tea, but look around your local Asian market first for a better deal and possibly better quality. Specialty websites for tea likely have better quality, but for a higher price – may be worth it.

Genmai cha is green tea with rice, and has a smooth, almost nutty flavor. I find it to be a very satisfying tea, great for drinking all throughout the day. I really like this tea in particular. It has a lot of rice compared to other brands I have tried, close to a 1-1 ratio, so this would be a great tea if you prefer more of the rice flavor. This tea has quite a bit of dust, so I would suggest using a very fine-meshed filter if you can.
