Question by hlbb: Why Taiwan want independence from China while it is indeed an independent country already?
Some of my Taiwanese friends always say that they are from an independent country called Taiwan, and they want independence from China. No matter this “Taiwan” country exist or not, How can those two things co-exist? It is like to say Germany wants independence from France. Only when you are territory of a country, you can then want independence, like Tibet want independence from China, Quebec want independence from Canada. How can an already independent country declare the request of Independence from another country?

UN doesn’t accept Taiwan is an independent country,200+ countries in the world include US don’t recoginze Taiwan is independent officially.
Taiwan province is just a province of China, there are 130+ places/city/province in the world try to be independent, nothing special with Taiwan.
Why does he like to have Taiwan independent from China? It is just like to persuade a couple to get divorced or to persuade brothers to turn against each other.Everyone is dependent on each other. If you like independence you can build a country of your own.You would be the president to yourself and the soldier to guard yourself. When China was seperated before the world war,Japanese invaded China. It slaughtered Chinese.Every descendant of Yanhuang should remember this.We don’t want to invade others. But wishing to get united and becoming stronger so to protect ourselves.
