Question by bergy10: What is the deal with baptised chinese people?
Most chinese people i know have christian names , are baptised and go to church and everything.
However, they also celebrate everything chinese related, like the chinese new year.
My question is do they have two religions? And can you have two religions at the same time?

It turns out that culture doesn’t have to be religious in nature. There’s secular cultures too.
Also, Christians don’t have a monopoly on English names.

God does not make deals
some chinese related things are part of their culture as the new year
just as americans celebrate 4th of july and new years day
no they do not have two religions
They do not have 2 religions. Chinese New Year is similar to Persian New Year. While they may have some “religious” themes in them, most Chinese Christians do not practice astrology. So when Chinese New Year rolls around they just look at the date and get money from friends lol.
And no you cannot have 2 religions. Jesus said you cannot serve two masters.
no their religion and culture is differant
A bit of syncretism there.
If they really are seeking they will find the Truth & let go the tradition.
In case you haven’t noticed… Christians in all “western” countries also
celebrate New Year… Do you have the faintest idea what your point is?
Since when was New Year anything to do with religion?
