Question by stranglehold: How can a chinese person tell a Filipino apart from a chinese?
When I was in china i remember I was walking out of a restaurant and the chinese person we were hanging out with was like. those two girls were filipino, and I was like WHAT! how can you tell, i mean i wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if my life depended on it.
How is this possible, they didn’t speak nor were they wearing anything funny.

Hi im married to Filipina and usually those who are mixed with chinese or full chinese Filipinos its very difficult you would only be able to distinguish from their accents which sounds like a spanish accent. Also a full blooded Filipina has more full body and breasts and usually shorter than Chinese girls. Also they tend to be darker in color unless their mixed.

It’s obvious. Filipinos have a different look than Chinese.

The same way anyone else can. You have to work on your powers of observation ! It is very easy to tell Filipino, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese etc apart, it is also easy to spot Northern from Southern in a lot of Asians too.
Open your eyes and actually LOOK at people !! Asians do NOT all look the same, they have distinct individual features as well as difference national features, if you open your eyes and allow your brain to process what you are seeing.
I am always amazed and disconcerted when someone says “Is that Patrick? I cant tell the Chinese people apart.” And they consider him a friend? You gotta be kidding !
OMG there are so many people who just cant SEE — its sad.
Often you run into people from a restaurant or store you frequent, and they talk for awhile and my friend say “do you know them? from where?” uhhh duh its lily and she works in that Korean restaurant,
I think its rude and narrow minded to not see people as individuals and you miss out on SO much –

There is BEAUTY nuances unique to all nationalities and you my friend, are missing out on seeing and appreciating it.
Skin tones, features, the shape of their eyes, texture of their hair, the shape of their face, height, body shape, the differences are there to see. Sometimes they are very slight, but if you open YOUR mind it WILL learn to process the information for you
They look completely different – their skintone, facial features, etc. How can you not tell the difference o__o
No doubt people will moan at me for this.
But there is a theory to suggest that people of x race are not very good at recognising faces of other races.
The same goes for chickens, chicken farmers who have been in the business for some time can tell one chicken from another by there face.
If your not familiar or used with the facial features of one race then you will have difficulty telling them apart.
You can tell them easily apart by looking at their passport. Otherwise it’s hit and miss.
