We received this DVD for Christmas and it has immediately become a firm favorite!
My children are 6, 3 and 1.5 yrs old and they all love “Dance and Learn Again” its such a fun DVD. Before each song Mei Mei speaks the words to the song slowly and clearly and the words also appear on the screen in English, Pinyan and the Chinese characters. There is a lovely selection of songs and they are a nice mix of soft pretty songs like “Willow Tree Girl” and faster fun songs like “Dumplings for Sale” and “Excitement in the Forest”
The songs all have dance routines to go with them and they are filmed in both indoor and outdoor locations and with various groups of children which all helps to keep the viewer engaged. The children are just delightful!
My 3 yr old son was especially happy to see boys “just like me” singing and dancing in a lot of the songs.
Mandarin is a difficult language to learn but with these songs children are absorbing and getting an “ear” for the language whilst having fun. I’m amazed how much they do pick up and how quickly but, for slower learners like myself
I found it helped to have the songs printed out and if you go to the “Mei Mei and Me” website and scroll down to “Resources” you can download the words to all the songs in English, Pinyin and Chinese characters.

|Another great Mei Mei DVD,
Mei Mei’s DVDs are all artfully produced, well thought out, and thoroughly engaging. This one is no exception. It offers another opportunity to learn Mandarin Chinese words and phrases, and just plain have fun dancing along with the kids. My daughter and I also love to follow along with the printed words, which are shown on the screen in Chinese characters and in pin yin. The DVD is well worth the price.

Mei Mei Hu’s latest video is a joy for both children and their parents. It teaches children Mandarin as they sing and dance along with the music. My two girls love Mei Mei Hu and her videos, especially the ones that feature little girls dancing in sparkly clothes. This video has that and more. The girls in the video are absolutely adorable, and the dances they do are so sweet. The words to the songs are spoken slowly in the beginning, so English-speaking children have a chance to master correct pronounciation. Mei Mei is very careful to have only correct Mandarin spoken in her videos, so that children can learn to speak properly. This video would make a wonderful gift to anyone who wants their child to be exposed to the Mandarin language. In fact, I’d recommend all of Mei Mei’s videos–they are something both parents and children can enjoy together.
