  1. You simply can’t make real Ma Po Tofu without this sauce. It’s absolutely fantastic, the #1 best. Twenty years ago, I would scour Chinatown and Japantown for this stuff, and buy every jar I could find. Now it’s much easier to locate, but I still tend to stock up because it’s just that precious.
