One Response to “Kikkoman Sweet & Sour Sauce”

  1. DESERVES A ZERO or negative #. This is bad beyond belief. Expensive too. And making one dish for two requires using at least half the bottle. just not worth it. fyi.

Sweet and sour shrimp (or chicken) is a staple for my family at ANY Chinese restaurant we go to (15+ places over past years). We always love it. We decided to make it on our own, and my husband swung by Vons and bought this. We followed a recipe to the dot (can’t recall if it was the recipe on the bottle or one with very high reviews from [...])…anyway, the chicken was good, but the sauce was NASTY. we know it was the sauce because we later tasted the sauce from the bottle and it was the same nasty flavor. Also, our bottle was NOT EXPIRED! Nastiness was not an ‘expired’ rotten taste, it was just a really really bad quality sauce taste.

The food was bad no one in the family wanted to touch it. There was so much leftovers and we agreed to throw out the dish even though we usually save everything…this was an exception.

I was so mad I wanted to call the company and ask for a refund not for the funds sake, but to make a point to some manager of how disgusting their product was… but they don’t have a “satisfaction guarantee” so apparently they don’t care what people think, so I didn’t call. What’s most annoying is how UNLIKE regular sweet and sour sauce this sauce is. It really should be called something else…maybe “bitter and bland sauce” ?
