Your analogy to Nazi Germany makes no sense. Almost every country invaded in attempts to get land.

I doubt they will wage war any time soon. They are surrounded by countries that own nuclear weapons. It wouldn’t be worth it.

Also currently they easily afford to buy all resources they need.

  2. justagrandma says:

They have in the past, and I suppose at some point in the future they may, but really they have all the land they can handle now, and as Russia showed it can be really difficult to rule over yet another large foreign land mass. Even the English couldn’t keep it up and in general they did the best by their colonies.
China has invaded or taken over other small countries, like Nepal and the strange case of Hong Kong.
As far as their being communist goes, well, it kind of went and they are no longer anywhere near as strict about that as they were.

  3. vote no for the party of no says:

they do have one of the biggest militaries on the planet they have only fought Vietnam in 1979 and lost

  4. How would I know says:

There’s really nowhere for them to go.

India on one side, nuclear power.
Russia on one side, nuclear power.
Japan on one side, protected by ocean and allied with nuclear power.
And the other side is a bunch of countries that would really provide little benefit if invaded.

  5. honeybeejim says:

Red China will try to buy up countries first[ Like Japan did with Hawaii].but soon they ll have to move their population .
Nix ion and Bush sn. signed Secret treaty’s with them .
Clinton allowed military weapon secrets and Nafta to assist them in there progress.
The USA made them powerful so whatever happens its our governments fault.

  6. MikeGolf says:

China invaded and annexed Nepal. They also invaded India and siezed part of their territory. They tried to do the same with Vietnam and lost.

They refuse to recognise the existance of Taiwan.

The current spat with Japan is an attempt by China to intimidate the smaller countries in the region into ceding valuable ocean and underwater resources.

  7. Provider Class Member says:

Look at Napal and Tibet. China does invade smaller countries.

  8. Liberal Girl says:

    NO!

    China is a peaceful country.

  9. M. Rajendran says:

Minor countries and try to major contry!

  10. paul s says:

Communist China has certainly been involved in a few wars in the last 60 years

Tibet invaded and enslaved by the Chinese

India they attacked and defeated the Indians gaining control of a number of important mountain ranges

Vietnam they attempted to invade Vietnam – they lost

Russia they have been involved in occasional fighting with the Russians (border disputes) since the 1950′s fighting only ending in the last 10 years, though there has been a couple of shooting exchanges since then) (this ‘minor fights’ have left several thousand dead

East Ungor another place like Tibet, taken by China a century ago the people are not ethnic Chinese but are muslims and more like their neighbours the Afghans, since the communists have taken over they have began systematic destruction of these peoples culture and religion, because of this the entire area is one giant Chinese military camp, thousands have died, (the Ungors have their own guerrilla army, it is now an offshoot of the taliban (i.e radical muslims), Ungors make up a large percentage of the Taliban in Afghanistan, taking turns fighting NATO then popping back over the
    mountains to fight the Chinese

In the 60+ years since the communists took over China they have been VERY BUSY expanding their borders at the expense of their neighbours

So yes they are very much the type of country to invade other countries.

  11. Floyd George says:

Well, you would have to ask Tibet.

China is HUGE, they have never evoked any interest in the rest of the world historically. They were under an inefficient monarchy for centuries. During the twentieth century they broke away and became a communist nation. That took about 40 years of civil strife to set up.
Traditionally they have resisted newcomers and have always traded goods out, money in.

Now they want to expand their influence into the world. They are in search of raw materials and they are funding African dictators in exchange for their natural resources.

We haven’t heard the end of China.

  12. Big Z says:

    Matt,
Dude you have to understand that if china were to even think of moving to invade north of their border that Russia would rape them. Another thing you have to consider is the united states “NO communism” mentality so i think that if china were to make a move on a peaceful non-communist party that we would end up getting involved. To put it simply China relies on Russia for a large amount of coal and petroleum products and would likely not try to piss them off if they need power to run their industries. Secondly they rely on us for a large amount of their exports and need that money if they were to fund a war. Finally some may say that china has a huge population and a large army. Now i won’t dispute either of those however what i can say is that they are fighting with f***en weapons from Vietnam. While they have made advancements they have not been able to mass distribute and mass train soldiers to be ready for 21st century warfare.
    Hope this helps :)
