Question by person: How to explain what close minded means to a chinese person?
My dad’s chinese and I’m trying to find what the phrase “close-minded” means in chinese and I’m not having any luck. So if any of you can speak chinese and knows how to translate this phrase into chinese or just explain it in chinese it would be very helpful.

Sorry, I don’t speak Chinese, but you can describe it to him. My description in English is: someone who does not easily accept new ideas or ways of thinking, and is set in their own ways. Perhaps you can translate this into Chinese, and tell him that, rather than a direct word-to-word translation of close minded.
There’s a few I can think of:
思想保守 = conservative thinking (can be taken to mean narrow-mindedness)
思想閉塞 = literally “blocked up ideas/thoughts”
僵化思想 = rigid/ossified thoughts
思想保守 = conservative thinking [critic in a more polite way]
思想閉塞 = stucked mind [ closed minded but in a harsher way]
食古不化 = Only thinks by his way, couldn’t change according to situations.
思想古老 = old minded =p
保守 、顽固、僵化

The easy way to say is 頑固.
If you want to emphasize, you can say “老顽固”.
close-minded就是形容一个人不愿意接受新想法,只按照自己的意思做事。
You can let your dad see my explanation.
