Question by Zan: How long would it take for a letter from China to get to America?
My friend lives in China, exactly how long would it usually take for a letter (Just a simple letter, we’re pen pals) to get to America? I’m only worried about this because I gave her the address of the new house I’m moving to. We’ve already signed the lease and we can start putting stuff in, but we’re not actually moving in until August 15th. If she sends the letter to the house, will it just show up in the mail box even if we’re not really moved in yet?

I would guess it depends on where the two of you live. I live in Atlanta Ga, my wife lives close to Shenyang, Liaoning Province. If she mails me postal it takes 10 to 14 days to get to me. If she mails air priority it can get here in 3 or 4 days. When I mail her postal mail it takes about 10 days each time. We have talked about why it takes her mail longer to get to me and have figured it out, ha ha. She is a day ahead of me. This gives my mail 12 hours of traveling before it gets to the same point in China where she lives. There is 12 hours exactly difference in our time. If it is 12 noon on Sunday here it is 12 midnight Sunday there. I always take my mail to the post office to get it stamped and to get a head start on the mail if I had mailed it at home.
