Refute the arguments with whatever evidence and proof that you have.

Answer why China blocks various Web sites. It does, I know this for a fact and it’s to protect China, in some ways, apparently.

China blocks a lot of information from going into China and from leaving China. If that is a false statement then show evidence or proof.

China arrested a number of Australian/American cement company employees for espionage/fraud. The details were never made public.

Do you think China is transparent and open with information?

You accept the truth and try to improve. There is no point in refuting the truth.

    why we are not opaque?
I think no country opaque Absolutely!
That is to say: no country is opaque!
So people need to fight for free with government in the every country!

Of course ,at this fight way: some countries go first, some countries go slow, but we all go ahead!

How do we DEAL with…. thats an authoritarian statement in itself!

I live in China and have done for many years, but if anything it seems that the Chinese are getting MORE paranoid and blocking even more web sites! Sites which were readily available before are being blocked as they are scared that some of the images or items there may not show them in a favourable light.

Any party or group that does not at least listen to alternative points of view cannot be anything ever other than authoritarian.

    you may say:

what do you expect from China? we already have too much information, but only really need those which can benefit the nation rather than individuals because Chinese culture value collectivism rather than individualism, and all the Chinese believe that a stronger China as a whole will eventually benefit every single individual. So most Chinese people understand that they don’t mind to take some personal inconvenience for the nation’s convenience as long as it is within a acceptable limit.

as foreigners, thank you very much for your care about our wills and concerns on opaqueness and authoritarianism. however, please also care about our wills and concerns about separatism and sabotage activities, on which all Chinese support the government’s stand. and it seems that the West simply ignore Chinese people’s views/wills on these matters, even though these are from the grass level…

    hope it help
