Store dinnerware safely in this cotton canvas storage chest from WHITNEY DESIGN. This chest is designed to hold either 12 each dessert plates or bowls. It is tan in color with chocolate brown piping and the front panel has a clear see-through window to allow the contents to be seen. Felt protectors are provided that slide between plates and/or bowls for up to a set of 12. Two handles on the side are attached by rivets and can support weight up to 25 pounds. The chest setup size is 8-inch by 9-inch by 9-inch.

I purchased these holders for my wedding china. I intended to put 8.25″ round plates in here, since the dimensions are listed as 9″x9″. However, be warned that the listed dimensions refer to the exterior, and how much room you need to have on your shelf. The interior dimensions actually run about an inch smaller. Thus, this particular box won’t hold anything larger than an 8.0″ diameter plate or bowl.
I also purchased several other WD China Storage boxes, and they all run 1″ small inside. So note the dimensions of your china prior to purchase. I will be using this box for smaller salad bowls, instead of the intended plates.
Otherwise well-constructed.

If you have used the Rubbermaid cloth storage boxes these are made like those. They are sturdy, well sewn, and much more practical than the typical soft quilted china storage products (I was very disappointed in the expensive Kangaroom set I purchased from Amazon). The reason I deducted one star is the color since it gets dirty from dust and the fabric does not dust well (same as Rubbermaid). Also the nice thin vinyl window may eventually dry out and become brittle. Nonetheless I ordered a whole set as I still prefer them over the quilted style. I just wish they would start using the same type of easy to clean durable cloth-like material that backpack or luggage manufacturers use.

I LOVE this product! It’s very sturdy and comes with dividers so your dishes don’t clank against each other. The boxes stack well and the handles are secure. I had the little quilted china keepers before, but these are a LOT better. The window is a nice feature, too, especially if you have different sets of dishes or buy them for all the different types, so you can pull what you need off the shelf at a glance.

These boxes are great! I was looking for someting a lot sturdier than the quilted storage containers (which are great if you are only worried about dust). I think these containers are going to last for a long time.
