I really like the illustrations in this book and the last page which unfolds to reveal the whole picture. The text is very simple – great for the youngest of listeners. This book gives great information about pastimes in China.

BEAUTIFUL book, much enjoyed by my daughter adopted from China. A fun and gentle way to introduce Chinese culture.

I ordered this book as a recommendation from YOUNG CHILDREN magazine, to coincide with the 2008 Summer Olympics held in China. Pretty illustrations and simple text describe the start of a day at a Chinese park, showing Chinese life and culture to young children.

My four year old daughter, adopted from China, loves this book. Simple text, beautiful illustrations, and a surprise at the end makes this a great book for a 4 year old.

Having just returned from China with our adopted 18 month old I found this book at the library and had to order several copies for other adoptive families. It reminded me of the wonderful people we met in China, and the lovely communities and neighborhods that gather in their parks. These were my favorite memories of China and each time I read the book to my daughter I can tell her about the wonderful people that loved her for the first part of her life. She chooses this book almost every night for me to read and especially loves the last page that has a pull out with of the images from the pages – so she can see the entire park. I think this book will inspire lots of different discussions about China as she grows older. It’s truly a gem.
