This magnificent statue measures 16 Inches tall, 7.5 inches wide and 5 3/4 inches deep. It is a superb representation of Quan-Yin, the Buddhist embodiment of compassion and mercy. The complete Chinese text of Heart Sutra is carved into his seat.
Made with cold cast bronze, individually polished, antiqued, and painted with color accents, the definition and the intricate details of this piece are simply breathtaking. The photograph does not do it justice. The special production process of this piece, originated from Great Britain, uses actual bronze powder mixed in the cold cast resin in order to ensures a richer, more life-like presentation. The hand-painted accents further adds to the depth and dimension of this piece. This statue is much more beautiful in person and is heavy for its size. I just bought this piece yesterday at a shop called Teavana (TM) at the Mall of America, in Minneapolis, MN. I saw her and just fell in love with her. She is every bit as beautiful as they say she is and more. The shop where I found her sells by and large beautiful teapots of all kinds and also has some oriental art. She sat nestled in among some teapots. When I saw her I went right to her. She has the Heart Sutra written in Chinese on the front. At the time that I bought her the salesperson thought that it was some kind of a poem about spring. He did not have the box for her so I bought her as she was as a display piece.
Only now as I go on-line to see if I can learn more about her do I find information about her at Amazon (just about the only place I buy books etc..) The writing, instead being a poem about spring is actually the Heart Sutra.
I am just so amazed and touched about this because I am a wellness coach and a healer and my work centers around healing from the heart. A double gift and blessing! It seems I was meant to find her and I thank Amazon for giving me a place to share and confirm that she is indeed very beautiful and worth every penny spent. She sits on my altar near to Buddha and my meditation space is the richer for it.

|Kuan Yin sitting on Heart Sutra,
My wife and I have also purchased this beautiful statue today. We were taken by its beauty. We purchased the statue at the Oakbrook Mall, near Chicago,Ill in the Teavana store. I have requested a full translation of the writings from the store employee who will email from a Chinese speaking friend of hers. We paid a bit more then the price on Amazon but we did not have to pay for shipping so it is probably the same money.
I have travelled many times to china so this statue has some significance for us and will easily adorn our home decor.

I purchased this statue of Kuan Yin to place on my altar in my yoga/meditation room. It is absolutely stunning! The quality in my opinion is A+++, which makes it a steal at this price. I will cherish this piece for many, many years.
